FFC04 - Trigger Challenge...

Thank you so much for understanding our little delay! So sorry for the inconvenience, but we're finally back with another Festive Friday challenge! We had an amazing display in our gallery last week! Thank you *so* much to everyone who took time out to play along and link up!

Truly, it's getting harder and harder to pick our favourites! But we did manage to narrow it down, and in no particular order, here they are!

Shout Outs!

We loved Jill's rustic take on this challenge, and how she layered her snowflake dies to create a gorgeous focal point for her card!

We loved Moriah's cool colour scheme, and her beautiful mix of patterned papers!

Sonya created such a *neat* background on her card, and her sparkly snowflake was enough to put this card over the edge!

And our Winner!

Ardyth blew us away with this stunning design - but there is more than meets the eye with this card. You must read her original post to find out why!

Congratulations ladies! Please email me at delightfulwaste@gmail.com and I will get you your badges!

Now, onto this week's challenge! This week, we are issuing a Trigger Challenge. Here is how it works: This week's Trigger is Merry. Whatever that means to you, and however it inspires you, put it into your creation. You are not obligated to use the actual word in your project, just make sure you tell us why the trigger led you in the direction it did.

Here are the design team's projects:

Amber

Geri

Melissa
Meredith

For this challenge, I am incredibly excited to introduce our guest designer, Susan R. Opel, Creative Editor for Paper Crafts Magazine!

Susan R. Opel loves color, creating, and a clever turn of phrase so her position as Creative Editor at Paper Crafts magazine fits her style just right. After receiving a BA in English from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI, Susan taught English to students in Illinois, Nevada, and Indiana, but now the creative field has lured her into its fast-paced and deadline-packed world. When the day is done, Susan enjoys card making, spending time with family, and hitting the open road. She’s also been called a Facebook “mega user.” Through Facebook she’s been able to reconnect with former students and people from all facets of her life, and connecting on a personal level with Paper Crafts readers and designers is one of her favorite things! Her biggest quirk is that she organizes her closet in color order (including matching colored hangers). Crazy, yes, but REALLY pretty!

What makes me merry? Bold colors and patterned paper, glitter and sequins, ribbons and rhinestones!

Here is Susan's AWESOME creation for our Trigger Challenge:

Now it's your turn! Create any holiday themed project based on the Trigger Word, Merry! You can combine our challenge with your other favourite challenges, and enter as many times as you like. This challenge will run until March 27, 2013 at 11:59PST. We will post our favourites when the next challenge goes live!

***Please remember to link up your actual blog post and not just your blog address!***

I love the word "merry" and use it all year. At Christmas, I joke with my sister Mary about "eat, drink and be Mary." LOL Look for my take tomorrow :)

I was visiting buttonsandbling.blogspot.com this morning and Maureen had posted her entry for this challenge. I am brand new to card making and loving every minute of it so I decided to take the plunge and submit a card. I tried to keep in simple just in case I choose this card to send out and have to mass produce it. lol I love this idea of spreading out the holiday tasks all year to lighten the load at Christmas. So glad I found you! I love seeing all the beautiful cards displayed and I am certain to learn alot here.
